BELOW ARE THE LEARNING PROGRAMS AT GIBSON'S SCHOOL

Curriculum
Gibson School has a functional hybrid curriculum. The curriculum is designed to build and strengthen core academic programs geared towards an examination and acquisition of essential academic skills. This curriculum structure prepares another lot of students for vocational training in school and post school.

Examinations
Gibson teaches the British National Curriculum leading to Cambridge International Examination (CIE) and the North American Middle States Association (MSA) learning standards.
The students at Gibson School register for General Education Development (GED) examination at completion of high school. This is a High School Equivalency Diploma which enables them to move to tertiary training institutions.
The examinations are taken at accredited psychometric test centers in Nairobi. The Cambridge International Examinations and checkpoint examinations are taken at accredited BNC School. Gibson has highly experienced teachers, learning standards and the latest teaching/ learning resources and best practices in special education.

Vocational / Apprenticeship & Transitional Planning
Students at Gibson School are encouraged to take a vocational option that best fits in their individual aptitudes. At the beginning the student is exposed to different craft skills the; they are exposed to about six different options before setting on the one they are strongest at.
They are taught by highly skilled resident specialists. These are Artists, Beauticians, Music Teachers, Carpenters etc.. The ultimate aim of the school is to produce highly polished graduates who are highly proficient in the chosen area of a specialization. At the IEP meeting the students, teachers, parents and other stakeholders will agree on the skill areas to be emphasized in the vocational classes for the given individual.
The student is later exposed to external apprenticeship sessions in a well equipped, friendly & professionally supervised workshop or work environment.
Gibson school continues to collaborate with other private & public training institutions in student transition planning and long term management. The aim is to have happy individuals living independently or semi-independently after school. The school management board, PTA and other partners will continue to lobby for post-school employment support and social welfare from both government and private sector stakeholders.
